It's Sunday afternoon and I was sitting in church with a friend. Not listening to the speaker, I became very chit chatty with her. Well, there was someone watching me a few rows back, and Apparently I caught his eye. I was unaware that he was staring at me, and after church I saw him, thought he was cute and went up to introduce myself to him. " Hi I'm Britney." "I'm Aaron" .
What was sad was,I forgot his name. Aaron of course remembered mine, but I didn't see him for a couple of weeks so I thought he was visiting. Well, comes to turn out, HE WAS SICK! Well, here is the funny part. When I met him for the first time, my hair was curly. When he saw me again, my hair was straight. It took him a bit to realize I was the same person. LOL.
When our paths came across again, there was a church Halloween Dance Party and he asked me if he wanted to go. I accepted, and we dressed up as a biker couple. It was our FIRST DATE!!! I loved it. I also love Halloween because I get to dress up!! We had a blast.
Aaron had to move to Arizona because he was going to school at ASU, so we decided to do the long distance relationship. It just didn't feel right to split up and date other people.
I decided to fly out to Arizona, because I missed Aaron and wanted to see him. My plane landed and I walked outside of the airport to look for him. I instantly saw him in his car, he ran out,and I dropped my suitcase and jumped into his arms and kissed him. I remember that so vividly as if it happened yesterday. It felt like we just reenacted a scene from the movies. It was truly amazing. It was one of those moments that I wished I had hired a photographer to capture that moment in particularly because we hadn't seen each other in a while. Now, this was before texting, but we wrote to each other back and forth. In fact, I have many of his letters, that he wrote to me. Aaron has the gift of words. He expresses his love so profoundly that I feel like I needed to have a dictionary by my side as I read his letters. It was exciting. I love learning new words.
We experienced a lot of great adventures together. I just loved being with him. I love when he holds me, I love when he grabs the side of my face and pulls me in for a kiss, I love when he opens the doors for me ( my Grandpa Schupple was very impressed). He makes me feel all giddy inside. You know that feeling when you see someone and you get butterflies of excitement? I still get that feeling. I get excited every day when I see him.
It was challenging for both of us when we started getting serious. My parents wanted us to split and have me date more guys. Why? Well, one of many reasons was, I was 18 and Aaron was 25. I was the first born of five kids. This was my parents first time experiencing this new change, this new chapter in life. But, I wasn't going to listen. I WAS going to be with Aaron.
Aaron and I were going to go out on a date one night and he called to tell me that something came up and he wasn't going to be able to do anything that night. I was completely bummed, so much to where I was getting mad. I was upstairs and my mom called me from downstairs and said that there was someone at the door for me. I looked out the window from my room and saw a Limo.
Oh my gosh. The little turd. Aaron sent a Limo driver to pick me up. OH MY GOSH. I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE IS UP TOO!!! I was excited and nervous as heck. The limo driver dropped me off at his parents house. The house was empty and only Aaron was home. I was so nervous. He took me to the table and sat me down at the table and had a dinner prepared for us. I looked up at him, and said. I know what you're going to do, and I'm too anxious to eat. He laughed, and said he can't eat either. So he took me by the hand, took me to their living room and got down on one knee and poured out his heart to me and asked me to Marry Him.
I can't remember what I said.......OH WAIT.... I said YES!!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED!!!!!
Aaron proposed in February 2002 a little after I turned 19. And we got married in July. It happened fast, but it was so amazing and beautiful.
We got Married July 2, 2002 and after our Honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta, we moved to Tempe Arizona. It was Me, Aaron and his Dog Forrest. He worked as an Electrician and did school full time, and I did hair and worked at Arizona Hair CO. We lived there for about 4 years, and After our First born, Kayla, was born in 2006, we moved to WI to live by family.
Every Story is different, but I will never forget ours. The Rest is History, but there will be plenty more stories told.
Aaron and I were going to go out on a date one night and he called me to tell me that something came up and that he wasn't going to make it tonight. I was so upset. I was all ready for the evening and my plans were canceled. Well, My mom called me from downstairs and said that there was someone at the door for me. I looked out my window and saw a LIMO!
Oh my gosh!!! The little turd. Aaron set this whole thing up and had a Limo driver come pick me up. I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO!!! (((( PROPOSE)))
The limo driver took a funky route to throw me off to where we were going, but, in the end, I knew we were going to his parents house. The house was empty and only Aaron was home. He took me by the hand and guided me to the table where he had food all prepared for us to eat. I sat down and looked at him and said; " I know what you are going to do and I can't eat anything." Aaron replied; " Neither can I." He took me by the hand, and walked me over into the Family Room, got down on one knee, poured out his heart to me and took a deep breath and said; "Will you marry me?" I can't remember what I said; but my answer has led us to almost 17 years of amazing and trying experiences...... and 4 kids.
If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would have given him the same answer.
