It's challenging for many of us to have this strong trait, let alone to build Confidence as an individual because we Excel in comparing ourselves to others. I AM GUILTY OF THIS!!
I talked a little bit about this in my post called; " Don't forget to count your blessings." You can read it here and find how many similarities there are within these two posts.
But, let me real you back into this topic. Lets look at what Confidence means first before I share what an incredible woman my friend is.
CONFIDENCE:: "The state of feeling certain about the truth of something! "
When my friend approached me and asked me to take photos of her for a birthday gift for her husband, I was honored. She planned everything from the dress, the shoes, the hair, all the way down to borrowing a friends truck. She is a beautiful woman, that shows confidence in WHO she is. I loved that she picked a stunning dress to show off her curves, and not try to hide them. She embraces who she is, she is proud of who she has become. She is a mother to a beautiful daughter who is now married with her own little girl.
This my friends is an example of Confidence. My goal as I was photographing her, was to pose her in a way to portray her confidence in herself. Many women that have curves have this thought that "its not aloud" that every body she be one body frame, long, tone, lean, you name it. Well, let me remind you where that view stems from or at least use too... HOLLYWOOD AND PHOTOSHOP!!!
I have nothing against Hollywood (unless they are demeaning an individual, but we wont get into that) and Photoshop.
We are coming into a time where many actresses and singers are proud of their shape and style and who they are. And because of that, it has actually relieved stress from woman in thinking; " I have to look like that" " I have to be on that diet" . But you don't!!!
And then there is Photoshop! That program can create incredible details to images, that they look realistic.
BUT you need to remind yourself::
"I need to be comfortable in my skin", of course taking care of yourself in a healthy manner, but LOVE WHO YOU ARE and when you do; your Confidence will shine, just like it does with my beautiful friend.
This image is one of my favorites from my past work, and I have grown since then, but I love sharing it, and showing and reminding woman to always stand tall with Confidence and Remember who they are!!
God doesn't make mistakes. Embrace you are and who you have become and life will be so much more delightful and enjoyable.
