I have a lot of my favorites from 2018 to share. January of 2018, I was just starting to build my new photography company, which is now, Britney J Photography.
I previously went by Sassy Mama Photography. I had that name for a couple of years and decided that I want my own personal name with my work. So, if you see my Sassy Mama water mark on some of my images, you will know why.
It was hard to pick through the hundreds (probably thousands of pictures from last year to share with you all) Granted, I think, 30 may be a little more over the top than I was planning on. But, It was hard to pick and choose, so, I want you all to see what I experienced in capturing. Yes; there are some Weddings, and Infant pictures that I have taken, but I feel the Lord wants me to focus on individuals, Families and Special Needs Families. Some day, I will go back and be a wedding photographer, but now is not the right time.
You will see that I share my children on here quite often. There is no reason not too. I love my children, they give me strength and help me to grow, as does my husband Aaron. Our lives our busy. Its not easy for my husband and I to escape, because of our sweet son, Logan, that has special Needs. And so, my children end up being my models many times whether they want too or not..lol.... many times they don't want too ( but they are good sports about it). Aaron is very supportive of me in being a photographer, so he is the one that watches the kids when I go out to do a photo shoot and or travel to do so. I guess you would say that I'm a Lucy girl in more ways than none!!
I LOVE landscape shots. I love the details that I can capture in my camera. This fires me up with how I can draw the viewers eye to the detail of that particular image that they never imagined seeing that was there. Flowers, mountains, forest preserves, you name it, I Love looking around, taking the shot on that particular detail, and showing my audience the feeling that is portrayed through the image. Its an incredible feeling. Think about this for one minute, the Lord created all of these incredible views, these masterpieces all over the world, and for us photographers to capture a glimpse of it through our cameras is MIND BLOWING and SO EXCITING!
I love the connection with Families. I think that is why I am so drawn to be a Family Photographer. Every Family has their own story and when shared, you (well at least me) builds a relationship with them and before you know it, we're like best friends. Every Family is different, every Family is unique, every Family has their strengths and weaknesses so why not share their stories and images to strengthen and build others up. We need to cry for those that have been hurt, comfort those that need to be comforted, Love those that need that Gap filled, and Laugh to remind others how healthy it is. Many people just want to know that they are not alone in their struggles as well as their triumphs. Everybody loves sharing their positive achievements, but some don't because they think they will be viewed as gloating. Let us not worry about what others think and feel, and share with the thought of being proud of who we are, what we can do, and how we are doing it!
Images speak Louder than words. It can speak differently to everyone, but the image speaks to each of us.
So, hold my hand, and come with me on a whole new journey that I will be experiencing in 2019 and you might just be apart of it!!
